PROGRAMS
Modern Music
Description:
Our IMPACT Modern Music Programs empower students to express themselves creatively by building foundational modern instrumental skills and applications in songwriting and production. Our programs provide a balance of group and individualized instruction, creating opportunities for prosocial experiences through collaboration and sharing, and utilizing accessible and culturally responsive curricular materials to engage students with varying learning styles and interests.
Our teachers are equipped with inclusive and therapeutic pedagogy--each student can find ways to thrive and shine through our scaffolded and modular approach, and we employ connective and regulating activities that respect and support students' humanity and mental health. We reduce barriers to access by coming to your school to meet your students where they are already at. We work with each school to assess equipment needs and assist with procurement prior to programs.

Jazz
Description:
Music Bridge Jazz provides small group performance experience, multi-instrumental technique, ear training skill, and contemporary music theory knowledge for youth from 5th grade-High School. Jazz fosters prosocial engagement through conversational improvising, arrangements and group dynamics, and call+response exercises. Students learn to play with and for each other, to trust and support each other.
Jazz is a culturally responsive art form: rooted in traditions of the Afro-Caribbean diaspora, blended with European structures, and informed by the personal stories of its diverse practitioners. Across the evolution of jazz, the music has blended with myriad international traditions, and has infused into virtually all modern popular music styles.
